How to download an Instagram profile picture in full size

Instagram only ever shows a tiny, cropped version of a profile picture, and there’s no built-in way to open it full size, let alone save it. SaveReels fixes that. Enter any public username (or paste the profile link) above and press Download; we fetch the original, full-resolution HD version of that account’s profile photo so you can view or save it properly.

No login and no app are needed. It works for personal accounts, creators, and business pages alike, on any device.

Why the app version isn’t enough

In the Instagram app a profile picture is a small circle, often blurry when you try to look closely. The file Instagram actually stores is much larger and sharp. Downloading that original lets you see the real image at full quality, which is useful for confirming someone’s identity, saving your own old profile pictures, or grabbing a high-res logo you have the rights to use.

What you get

  • The full-resolution HD profile picture, not the cropped app thumbnail.
  • A standard image file you can open, zoom, or save anywhere.
  • Instant results from just a username, with no follow and no login.

Private accounts and fair use

Only public accounts’ profile pictures can be downloaded. If a profile is private, its picture isn’t accessible without following and logging in. A profile photo is still someone’s image: use downloads for personal reference or content you have permission to use, and don’t repurpose someone’s photo to impersonate them or mislead others.

More questions

Can I zoom in on someone’s Instagram DP?

Yes. Downloading the full-size HD image lets you view it at its original resolution instead of the small cropped circle the app shows.

Does it work for business and creator accounts?

Yes, as long as the account is public. Personal, creator, and business profiles all work the same way.

Is the downloaded picture watermarked?

No. You get the clean original image with nothing added.

  • New

Photos from X posts, and a choice of video quality

The Twitter video downloader now saves photos too, not just video. A post with only a picture in it used to come back as "no video found", which was true and useless — now you get a Download Photo button and the image at full size. Video posts also arrive with every quality the post actually has, so you can pick HD or a smaller file instead of taking whatever we were given. And a post that has been deleted now says so, straight away, instead of making you wait while we check three more times.

  • Fix

Your language in your file names

If a post's caption was in Hindi, Arabic, Urdu, Bengali or any other non-Latin script, the saved file lost it — the letters were stripped and only the punctuation between them survived, so a file could save as "savereels.online-!,-,-,-.jpg". Captions now keep their own script, so the file is named after the post in the language the post was written in. Titles that really are only emoji still fall back to a clean name.

  • Fix

    Profile posts are downloadable again

Loading a public profile's recent posts through the Instagram photo downloader had stopped working entirely — one source served that grid and it had started refusing our server, with no backup behind it. There is a second source now, so the grid loads again. It also labels each item correctly: photos were being reported as videos, which made the wrong download button appear.
