TikTok Video Not Downloading? Try These Fixes
If your TikTok download is failing, one of these reasons is usually the cause. Work through the checklist below.
✅ Fix 1 — Copy the link correctly
In TikTok, tap Share → Copy Link. Make sure the URL starts with tiktok.com/ or vm.tiktok.com/. Do not paste a URL from TikTok's search results page — that will not work.
✅ Fix 2 — Check if the account is public
Private TikTok accounts cannot be downloaded. Open the profile and check for a lock icon. If the account is private, SaveReels cannot access the video.
✅ Fix 3 — Check if the video still exists
Open the TikTok link directly in your browser. If you see "Video unavailable" or a blank page, the creator has deleted or restricted the video.
✅ Fix 4 — Try a different browser
Some browsers block automatic video downloads. Use Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone for best results.
✅ Fix 5 — Clear browser cache and retry
Old cached data can sometimes interfere. Clear your browser cache, reload savereels.online, and paste the link again.
If none of the above work, the TikTok video may be temporarily unavailable due to CDN restrictions. Try again in a few minutes.
Common Causes
1. Private or Restricted Account
TikTok videos from private accounts, friends-only, or region-locked content cannot be accessed.
2. Expired or Invalid Link
Copied links can expire quickly. Always use a fresh Share → Copy Link right before pasting.
3. Video Deleted or Unavailable
The creator removed the video, made it private, or TikTok took it down since you copied the link.
4. Browser or Extension Interference
Ad blockers, strict privacy extensions, or VPNs can block the download request or CDN.
5. Temporary TikTok Rate Limiting
During peak hours TikTok may throttle requests. The same video often works again after a short wait.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my TikTok video not downloading?▼
The most common reasons are: the video is from a private account, the link has expired, the URL was copied incorrectly, or your browser is blocking the download. Check each of these before trying again.
TikTok says 'This video is not available' — what does that mean?▼
The video may have been deleted, set to private, or restricted in your region by the creator. SaveReels can only download videos that are publicly accessible.
Why does SaveReels say 'Invalid URL' for my TikTok link?▼
Make sure you are copying the full link. TikTok links look like tiktok.com/@username/video/123... or vm.tiktok.com/ABC123. Links copied from the Share sheet may sometimes be shortened — try copying from the browser address bar instead.
The download starts but the file is corrupted or won't play▼
Try a different browser. Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone handle video downloads most reliably. If the file is still broken, the video may have been served with restricted CDN access.
Can I download TikTok videos without a watermark?▼
Yes. SaveReels downloads directly from TikTok's media servers and does not add a watermark. Some videos have a watermark baked into the video itself by TikTok — those cannot be removed.
Why does TikTok download work for some videos but not others?▼
Creators can disable downloads on individual videos inside TikTok settings. Videos with downloads disabled can still be resolved through SaveReels as long as they are public, but some restrictions may apply.
